The funny things kids say
- I was reading a story to them the other night and in the story it talked about Jesus feeding us the word. Shawn had a hard time understanding the feeding part, so big sister Kay-Lee always trying to help simply explained to him that we"eat the Bible". At this little Shawnie exploded into fits of laughter..."We eat the Bible????" hahahaha. It was so adorable.
- All the kids were playing outside, when Kay-Lee (again) decided she wanted to play a game, there had to be a mommy, a daddy, a baby, robbers and darkness exept for one little speck of light. When everyone had decided what they wanted to be, all they were missing was the "darkness" (it was the middle of the afternoon). so of course, ever imaginative, she sets out on a mission to find "darkness", looks around the whole garden, then suddenly she has this idea to put a black sheet up on top of them (pointing into mid-air), ha!!! So she went again all around the garden looking for a black sheet to hang up. Finally she ended up forgeting about it and going to play something else...awwwwwww poor thing, she was so determined to find darkness!
- They were playing Barbies, (Shawn has this super muscular fire man) and he kept on repeating himself in this deep voice pretending his man was saying "shut down, shut down, shut down" to Kay-Lee's Barbie. Joan and I were listening to him wondering what he was talking about, so she asked him why he was saying that, and he replied " Because I want the mommy to stop talking!" I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that, this whole time he was trying to say shut up. I thought it was so cute, although I don't know where he would have got that word from.
- On this last one, I was putting them both to bed, and we were saying our bedtime prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep...." at the part where it says if I should die before I wake.....If I should live another day... " Shawn, looks at me and askes: "how can you live another day if you die?"
Kids really do say the darnest things!
